What does my credit report say?

We strongly recommend you NOT use other credit report services that charge a fee or try to sell you things you don’t want or need.

The Big 3 aren’t the only ones selling your information.

There are many “specialty “bureaus that report only specific areas of information ranging from landlord tenant experience, medical records employment and criminal background to name just a few. These companies use these reports to inform decisions about providing you with credit, employment, residential rental housing, insurance, and in other decision making situations.

The credit score business — a billion-dollar industry.

Credit agencies compile a variety of information about any individual with open lines of credit, from student loans to car leases to, until recently, medical debt. It’s a billion dollar industry in the business of collecting, storing and then selling your private information; all legal. See A Billion Dollar Industry.
